Archaeological Ethics
Archaeologists have a responsibility to treat all archaeological sites and artifacts as an important part of their cultural heritage. They must ensure that all kinds of artifactual materials are properly prepared and curated so that they will last for future generations to study.

Some types of analysis are destructive, such as radiocarbon dating. Archaeologists must ensure that materials that must be destroyed are properly documented first, and that the destruction is justified by the information gained.
